: Well, I got caught in a snowstorm tonight, very unintentionally, and it was SCARY. Easily the worst weather the Z's ever been in. Despite many of you people's claims (bastards), I do NOT abuse my car in any way... I never would have driven in this had I knew it was coming, but I didn't. : When I left my house, it was perfectly nice out... cold, but hey it's Michigan. No snow or precipitation in sight. Went out to eat with a couple friends, and headed over to Roo's house so he could help me out with my packaging my wing that I sold (THANKS a TON man... I owe you big time), and after we finish and go out to take a look at my car, and it's snowing. : GOD DAMN this snow is getting old, by the way. Every day for the last two weeks it has snowed, not enough to accumilate, but enough to keep the roads wet and my car dirty (grumble grumble). I wish there was like a giant piece of snow that, if defeated, would make all other snowflakes die, and all would be right in the world, and snow would cease to exist. : But anyway, onto my story - so basically, I'm stuck at Roo's house with about an inch of snow on the ground, and I gotta get home. Only way is to drive... doh! I didn't think it'd be that bad, but man was I wrong. Had to do no more than 10mph the whole way home, and even then I almost lost it on 13,549 seperate occasions. The scariest thing is that you never know if you have traction - you can't tell. The back end will slide out a tiny bit, and sometimes you can't tell, so if you *touch* the gas, you're spinning. And starting up from a stop? Forget it. For those of you that have never driven in the snow, here's an easy 3-step way to recreate the feeling:: 1) Turn car on and put in nuetral. : 2) Rev engine. : 3) Don't go anywhere. : That's basically what it's like to drive in the snow. : Anywho, I stopped at a parking lot (which now that I think about it was a terrible idea, I should have just gotten home ASAP before the snow got even deeper, but hey, that's Jackie for ya) and snapped some pics. Cover your eyes folks, it's a snowy Z. : I *really* need to learn to work my camera. I can't figure out how to turn the flash off and leave the antishake feature on. Oh well. : : Kinda RichK - ish, eh? : : Ah, safe at home in the now permament garage spot :) : : Hey Nixit, how ya like THESE apples, huh? HUH? You may have a Jeep, but is it a HOOPTY Jeep?! :) : : This is the DD for now. It's my brother's DD, but he's letting me use it while he's gone. It has a system :) : And here's a random shot of my car that I liked, taken at my new house: : : NEVER drive your Z's in the snow people... it's an experience I would NOT like to repeat. The good news is, NEVER AGAIN will I have to drive s poor Z in bad weather soon... I'm DEFINITELY getting a DD this year, along with a TT. And now that I have a permanent garage, the TT can be a garage queen :) ***SUBLIMINAL MESSAGE*** sell me your car Kevin (Jax) : Well, that's all. Forums slow and I felt like posting, so I thought I'd share my neato experience. Seeya!
thought we owned performance cars, not rolling christmas fucking trees.-ni[X]it
